<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This data and service contains a set of layers representing projects that have been developed to guide the City of Tigard's twenty-year vision of transportation system needs.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>In January 2022, the Tigard City Council adopted the 2040 Transportation System Plan (2040 TSP) charting a roadmap for equitable mobility in Tigard for the next 20 years. The 2040 TSP was initiated in 2020 and responds to a new strategic vision for Tigard’s future, which emphasizes developing a multi-modal transportation system that is walkable, healthy, sustainable, and accessible for everyone. This TSP serves as an important long-range planning tool for Tigard to ensure its transportation system can meet community needs, realize the City’s strategic vision, and conform to state and regional policies.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The 2040 TSP sets the policy framework for the city's transportation system Adopted transportation policies support transportation safety, greenhouse gas emission reduction, equity, quality of life, livable neighborhoods, economic vibrancy, and strategic financial investment. The 2040 TSP supports implementation of Tigard’s Strategic Vision and Tigard’s Complete Streets policy – ensuring our transportation system works for all members of the community regardless of age, ability, or mode of travel.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>To meet the needs of a growing community, the 2040 TSP includes a list of strategies and projects that will guide future investments. It proposes 80 capital projects with a combined value of approximately $313 million. Projects fall into the following categories: Stronger Streets Network, Urban Upgrades & Active Transportation, Connectivity, Transportation System Management and Operations (TSMO), Transit, and Special Studies. Prioritized 2040 TSP projects are programmed for implementation in the city’s 6-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Transportation funds are limited and highly competitive; a major theme of this TSP update is making the most out of the existing transportation system. We believe this can be accomplished through effective management and strategic investments in improved connectivity, new trails and trail upgrades, sidewalk infill, bicycle facilities, intersection improvements, and transit service. These improvements are aimed at providing safe, climate-friendly, and efficient transportation options for all members of the community.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
